Our tunnel pasteurizers are made of 18-10 (AISI 304) stainless steel and are complemented by external heat exchangers and fully inspectable cooling tunnels. They can be fully automated upon request.
Tunnel pasteurizers can be built to work either continuously or in batches, and using both steam and water circulation. Because of the specificity of their use, Spadoni tunnel pasteurizers can be customized to meet each customer’s needs.
A fundamental step in the food production chain to guarantee a quality product, the thermal pasteurization process – unlike that of sterilization – is able to protect the health of the consumer while maintaining the nutritional properties of the processed aliment.
In pasteurization, the product is subjected to a high temperature – up to 100°C – for several minutes. This eliminates any pathogenic microorganisms present, thus guaranteeing the uncontaminated conservation of the product.
In general, tunnel pasteurizers are structured in several sections: heating, pasteurization and cooling. The heating and cooling sections are designed to optimize energy consumption, and the pasteurization sections to maintain the right pasteurization unit ratio.
